What a treat to see Pretty Lights Again! I’ve seen him too many times to keep track but every time it feels like its the first time, lol. This was how I kicked off my new found freedom, which was no doubt the best choice for my first event to celebrate freedom.

I headed to Chicago wit Lindsey, when we arrived at our hotel, we were both less than satisfied, but what are you gonna do? Make the best of it, that’s what! We got a nice buzz going, ate some edibles and headed out for the first day of jams.

This was the first time I had been to Northerly Island, and I gotta say that I thought the Venue was pretty sick. They had an area with seats for when you needed to take a break or sneak off to do some party snacks. They had very limited drink offers, as most events do, but these choices were some off brand stuff I never even heard of. Usually whether its a festival, show, concert, event or whatever, they usually have Bud, Budlight, Coors, but none of that here, AND this off brand beer was like 18 bucks a tall boy, no no no, way too much, good thing I had my flask! CHEERS!

Once the show was done they let us loose on downtown Chicago, Me and Lindsey found a Philly cheese steak place that was the 2nd most bomb cheese steak I ever had Ill have to look up the name of the place for a proper shout-out.

The next day before the show we got nice and lit and walked around Chicago. Out of all the times I’ve been to Chicago, I’ve never been to Cloud Gate, so we made sure to check that out, which was really cool, but it was hard to get a cool picture because of all the people.

We also checked out the aquarium, which at first I was super excited for, I had been hearing good things for quite some time. But I was heavily disappointed in our experience, it was super costly per person, you could never afford to bring more than 1 or 2 family members, and once we got in we found many large large fish crammed into little aquariums, it was very sad and I was surprised the animals were being held like this, one fish was so big it literally could not turn around in its small aquarium. The dolphin show was cool and they had a very big swim area. Got food from there that wasn’t all that great either, so overall I wouldn’t recommend it, but if you don’t mind forking over the dough theres a few cool things about it.

We went to the Art Museum as well which was really cool, if you have never been there you should check it out there are some amazing pieces in that building. And the surrounding area, is simply beautiful, with gardens, fountains, paths, and trails you can walk through, its a great place to take pictures. The food they offer isn’t half bad either.

Those were the main highlights of this trip to Chicago, been there many times, and I’m sure ill be there many more times in the future. LOVE THE WINDY CITY.
