The Secret to Ranking on Search Engine Results Page (SERP) | Don’t Try So Hard

How to Rank Higher In Search Results

This may not be what you want to hear, but the true secret to ranking high on SERPs is to not try so hard. Now does that mean to ignore marketing and proper SEO Strategies? Of course not!

What I mean by “Don’t Try so Hard” is that its easy for SEOs or Businesses to focus their efforts entirely on ranking in search engines, this means they are optimizing for Search Engines, not their audience.

Definitely deploy proper white hat strategies, you need to, but don’t sweat the little details, and don’t focus on ranking, focus on your content. The best way to rank on SERPs is to create the best content possible.

“Don’t try so hard” also applies to your content, again does mean you should not have a content strategy and be creative and put thought into your content? Again, of course not! What I mean is that its easy for people to stress over their content so much that it inhibits them from actually creating good content. Relax and have fun with it! Provide value!

Provide Value and They Will Come

The most important thing for your SEO is your content. Make your content valuable, offer resources to help people within your industry and they will see you as an authority. When you offer people value without expecting anything in return amazing things happen, my digital mentor Gary taught me that one, and I have to say like many other things he was dead on!

I promise you if you stop focusing on how you can make money from social media and start focusing on user experience, the money will follow, I promise you.

I see so many people just trying to sell, sell, sell… it gets a bit spammy and offers the user no value up front. That’s the secret, attract businesses by providing value upfront without expecting a check, I know it sounds crazy but this business model is proven.

Its called THE CONTENT!

Everyone is so wrapped up in ranking they forgot about a lil something, its called THE CONTENT!

Sometimes, its necessary to beat a dead horse, but do you guys realize that there are sites with horrible SEO when it comes to things other than content, but they rank high because their content is top notch and drives engagement.

Content, it’s the most important part of all of this. If you have amazing SEO but your content sucks, whats the purpose?
